Real Wedding: Lynn and Peter
When I first met Lynn and Peter, it was at the Grand Wedding Show last year and they were telling me about the gorgeous Kauri trees they had at their property up north and that they wanted to get me up there to see them. Well, when I finally did, what I found was incredible and a little unnerving.
About an hour north, I came to their property which was ensconced in native bush with a gorgeous home that was almost a part of the landscape itself.
They took me for a walk down the landscaped paths to a strikingly beautiful curved lily pond with a summer house poking over the water to take in the view.
Here's where the unnerving part comes in - Lynn and Peter had already been working on this for months, dredging the pond to bring it to its optimal potential and were planning to grow grass on the bank before the wedding - cue me noting that it was November and the wedding was to be in March - how long does it take to grow grass from scratch?!
As it turns out, this was one thing I certainly didn't need to worry about as at the rehearsal, I arrived to find the lush green grass carpeting the bank with the lily pond looking pristine and the sun gleaming on the water to top it off.
Raj Pergola Tents were set up on the bank to shelter guests from either sun or rain (thanks to Auckland's penchant for dramatic weather changes) with white seats and we made a greenery garland to wrap around the pole of the Summer House, adding in a few bits of the native greenery we found on the property to really tie their home into the wedding theme a little further.
After the wedding, photographer Owen Allison trudged through the native wilderness on the opposite side of the pond and precariously perched on the edge of the water to take a few group shots looking back onto the tents.
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful - a harpist played as guests arrived and then played at the summer house for the wedding party. The music was incredible and so fitting with the surroundings.
The bride looked spectacular and Lynn and Peter are such a relaxed couple - something that was very evident in the ceremony - no rush, no stress, Peter trying to sneak looks at the bride getting ready ha, it was a perfect day.
Lynn sent us through this note afterwards :
" We both wanted to thank you very much for your help and participation in making our wedding day so very magical. You certainly made things run smoothly and was great to know you were there. We loved, loved, loved everything about the day and it is a day we will never forget and I can honestly say it was the best day of my life."
We truly loved being a part of your magical day, it was a stunning location and such a fun wedding to coordinate. Thank you for choosing us!
